Adapting to Change

From the President's Desk

For the past year, we have repeatedly heard how different our normal will be in the future. With so many changes in every area of life, it is hard to picture how our future will look. But in reality, our definition of normal is constantly changing when we change as individuals or adapt to the change happening around us.

For example, banking standards and practices change continuously. When I began working at Bank of Prairie du Sac, I could not have imagined what normal bank operations would look like a few decades later.

The new technology and processes we use now would have been unimaginable only a few years ago. Who could have guessed that normal banking would include opening a checking account from your phone or getting a debit card issued right inside our bank?

It is not just banking that has changed. Our Sauk Prairie community is constantly growing and transforming. We have witnessed the birth of new businesses and the expansions of existing businesses. Our schools are being rebuilt and remodeled to improve the education of our next generation. Local parks have been updated and ground has been broken on new projects that will benefit the community for years to come.

Looking at the past, it is easy to make sense of the changes we have encountered. However, it is difficult to predict the many changes we will experience in the future. A lot has changed in the past year, in ways that are even more rapid and unexpected than we usually see. Whether expected or not, change is a part of life.

Though many things have changed at Bank of Prairie du Sac, one thing that will not change is our commitment to serving our customers and our community.

Stay safe and have a great summer!
